Well, the results are in for the mid-term elections and
apparently voters took President Trump’s advice and pretended he was on the ballot. His approval rating on how he governs is at 37
percent, so these results should come as no surprise.
What is surprising is that the present administration heavy
weights attributed the loss of both congressional branches to the fact that
Republicans just didn’t get out and vote.
Apparently, if a Republican who felt betrayed by Donald Trump for not delivering
on his domestic campaign promises, and invoking actions that have contributed to
worldwide economic chaos, voted for a Democrat, they were considered as not
turning out to vote.
And therein is the present problem with both political parties
in the U.S., they expect blind allegiance no matter how lacking a candidate may
be in both competency and moral character. And our President is over the top with this
ideology as he ranks blind loyalty as the highest qualification for his choice
of individuals to serve in cabinet positions, judgeships, and endorsement of
candidates. His endorsement of Ken
Paxton in Texas and Darline Graham in South Carolina for Senate seats are two
prime examples of Trump’s fixation on loyalty. Paxton was mired in questionable ethical violations
and Graham’s only claim to fame was that she is the sister of the late Lindsey
Graham.
But apparently many Republican voters wanted more
than just Trump loyalty as reflected in Tuesday’s election process.
So, despite what you may hear from the President Trump and
his loyal followers the “Blue Tsunami” was the result of both Democrats and disenfranchised
Republicans.
And, of course, since President Trump can never admit any
kind of possible connection to or responsibility for a loss, he posted on his Truth
Social account, Tuesday night, “I wasn’t on the ballot, and if I was, we would
have won in a LANDSLIDE.”
President Trump needs to be careful because just maybe folks
did pretend he was on the ballot.
